When a small Midwestern town sponsors a junior football team, the best athlete, known as “The Icebox,” is denied a chance to play–because she’s a girl. Refusing to accept the rebuff, Becky “The Icebox” O’Shea organizes other rejected kids into a team of small, weak, asthmatic, chubby, runny-nosed and uncoordinated players, then challenges the coach who rejected her to a game to decide which team will represent the town. Now she has two weeks to turn her ragtag squad of losers into a winning unit.
